It is
expected or not, we must play our roles religiously towards nature. With the
advent of blind modernization, we ruined a large part of our environment.
Various species of plants, shrubs and even birds have now extinct and many
other are on the verge of extinction. Open water resources like ponds, lakes
etc. are scarce now. Even the rainy season is short and unexpected now. What we
have left are dry lands with traces of vegetation.
The thirst
of man can be slaked through ground water, but what about the others? The crow is
not the only thirsty creature now but most of its type. They never expect from
us but would be grateful if helped. Thirst could be a big reason of their
untimely death and extinction.
All of us
are familiar with the endangered bird- The House Sparrow. It’s rare to see it
in the cities now. And now we observe World Sparrow Day. Isn’t it
ironical? Insensitiveness towards nature
has ruined a lot. Existence needs them too. Can’t we provide a little space for them?
The song of
existence can be heard from the sweet mouths of birds especially in the
villages and the outskirts of the cities. The kinds of chirruping sound cannot
be comparable with any other song or poem. The life in nature can be perceived with
their voices. The song of Cuckoo, the chirruping of Sparrow and the voices of
many other birds collectively forms a unique melody. We are losing such a great
melody, the melody of nature.
We are still
left with a ray of hope if we try to understand our mother nature and her laws.
As she takes care of us, we must take care of her. At least we can do a little
help by providing drinking water to the thirsty birds all around us during this
summer. Let’s keep fresh water pot to welcome them in our homes’ premises and
take pledge to reform their habitat in the long run.
